Hon. Okey Mbah to PDP Leaders in Nkanu East: Defend Governor Mbah’s Progressive Policies Against Paid Critics

The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State have been advised to keep up their massive support for the executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

The member representing Nkanu East constituency, Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Okey Mbah made this appeal on Saturday during the monthly meeting of the party.

He stated that the recent attacks on the governor over his developmental agendas for the state are mere expressions of hatred by naysayers who have incurable disdain for development.

He also mentioned that Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration wants Enugu to become a modern city with the manner in which he is seriously developing our infrastructure to meet up with the international best standards of what a city should be like.

Hon. Mbah highlighted the importance of Enugu’s modern bus terminal and transport interchange in the development of the city, emphasizing the disruptive development it would bring to the state. He said that the interchange will be a terminal hub and connecting point for buses and train to different locations within and outside the state. He stated that it would have facilities like cinema and shopping malls for more convenient shopping experience.

He urged the members of the party to start countering the series of lies from these paid naysayers who, he said, had wanted our governor, who is also their son, to fail.

According to him, “We are welcomed to this month’s meeting of our great party.”

“It is with joy that I welcome all our leaders across the wards in our local government area.”

“I want to appeal to all of us to make it a duty to protect and defend our brother, son, and leader, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, against some paid critics .”

“This is a man who is performing wonders across the state with a modern roadmap on what Enugu should become in a few years to come. There are lots of lies told against him, especially by the opposition who had from inception of his administration failed to see the lofty vision of the governor for the state. They concoct sugarcoated lies to deceive people, hiding under the issue of demolitions to attack.”

“All these are lies that don’t have weight, as our Governor only took lands from the railway, and after due notice, paid compensations to those with veritable documents, and began its developmental work.”

“This is the first government in recent times across the country that is paying compensation to its citizens affected by developmental plans of the Government in addition to offering them offer of first refusal when the project is completed.”

“There are uncountable achievements so far in infrastructure, education, commerce and industry, agriculture, transportation, health, tourism amongst others, which are notable and clear.”

“The smart schools which are in all the wards, the New Enugu Smart City that cuts across Emene, Nchatancha, Ugwuaji, Ogui, Amechi, and Akpugo is a massive ongoing work that will stand the test of time.”

“So anytime they come up with these stories, counter them with facts and figures. Our governor is a man with a good vision for our dear state.”

Hon. Mbah also stated the importance of organizing peaceful congresses across wards in the local government by the party’s leadership, especially choosing committed and dedicated party members instead of using it to settle political allies.

He called for a massive reward to all the loyal party faithful across the wards with positions that can give them the opportunity to express their capacity, adding that doing so would engender the party to a greater height.

He, however, urged that those who performed exceptionally at the ward level be promoted to the local government level as a way of encouraging hard work.

“I want to beg all of us to be our brother’s keeper, especially as we prepare for our congresses.”

“We must encourage hard work and elect our hardworking members to be our ward leaders. We also need to promote those who did well in wards to the local government area. By so doing, we are unifying the party and making it stronger.”

“Let all hands be on deck to make PDP the party for ndị Nkanu East by organizing a peaceful and seamless congress that will unite us rather than divide us.”

“PDP is always the party for ndị Nkanu East, and with our efforts, we shall make it better.”
