Renowned Nigerian artist, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has recently made allegations against comedian I Go Dye, accusing him of absconding with his funds.
During a podcast interview with Afrobeats Intelligence, Mr Eazi recounted an incident where the comedian failed to appear at a concert organized in Ghana, even after accepting payment for his performance.
Mr Eazi shared, “I hosted the inaugural Swagatainment Award at my university, and I had booked R2Beees, Wande Coal, and Sarkodie to perform. Wande Coal was present in town but didn’t show up for the event. At that time, I was unaware that he hadn’t received his full payment.”
He continued, “I was left pleading with Sarkodie, asking him to perform on stage even though I hadn’t fully compensated him. He came through for me, saving the day. That’s why he is more than just a friend; he is my brother. I had Sarkodie and R2Bees lined up, but unfortunately, I Go Dye absconded with my money.”
“I distinctly remember texting I Go Dye, expressing my disappointment that he hadn’t paid me. If I ever cross paths with him again, I intend to remind him about settling his debts. It’s not about animosity; it’s simply a matter that lingers in the back of my mind.”
