Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, known as Ayra Starr, disclosed that she has already prepared an acceptance speech for the Grammys.
Ayra Starr’s track ‘Rush’ received a nomination in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category for the 66th Grammys.
In an interview with Cool FM Nigeria, the Mavin Records artist expressed confidence in her ability to win, despite facing tough competition. She mentioned that her acceptance speech is extensive due to the significance of being in the first African category.
Ayra Starr stated that she has envisioned her walk and outfit for the occasion. In the event of winning, she humorously shared her plans to celebrate by dining at a Chinese restaurant and video-calling her mother.
The 66th Grammy Awards are scheduled for Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Los Angeles.
Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ will be competing for the inaugural Best African Music Performance award alongside Davido’s ‘Unavailable’, Asake and Olamide’s ‘Amapiano’, Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, and Tyla’s ‘Water’.
