Following the events surrounding the untimely demise of singer Mohbad, Badmus Opetodolapo, the former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, has reflected on the heavy criticisms she faced after expressing her disapproval of Nigerian musician Naira Marley.

It is worth remembering that the police officer, who was actively present on social media at the time, took to her page in 2019 to condemn Naira Marley’s lifestyle and his remarks regarding women’s bodies.Back in 2019, Naira Marley published a tweet stating, “Having a big booty is better than having a master’s degree.”

In response, the former Lagos Police PRO wrote, “So, according to him, possessing a prominent physical feature is now more valuable than possessing educational or vocational achievements? I still cannot comprehend this! We need to restore rationality to our system and cease accepting public disturbances.

It is a disheartening reflection of our society to applaud an evidently wayward and unproductive individual who hides behind the guise of creating music, particularly music that is offensive in nature.”

The former police officer’s remarks generated significant backlash, highlighting the divergent opinions on the matter. It is important to note that public figures, especially those in law enforcement, often receive criticism when expressing personal views, particularly in cases where it intersects with popular culture or public figures.

“My advice to younger ones: let no one confuse you that having a good body part is great but to have educational or vocational qualifications is more important! In fact it’s non-negotiable! Your body part cannot give you sustainable existence only good educational or vocational qualifications will do. Be guided! #saynotoharddrugs #harddrugdestroys.”

In response to the recent circumstances surrounding the tragic death of singer Mohbad, former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Badmus Opetodolapo, has recalled the intense criticisms she faced after speaking out against Nigerian musician Naira Marley.

To provide some context, back in 2019, Opetodolapo openly condemned Naira Marley’s lifestyle and a controversial statement he made regarding women’s bodies. At the time, Naira Marley had tweeted, “Having a big booty is better than having a master’s degree.”

Expressing her disapproval, the former Lagos Police PRO wrote on her page: “So, having a large body part is now considered superior to educational or vocational qualifications? I still can’t get over this! We need to restore sanity to our system and stop tolerating public nuisance. It’s mediocrity for anyone to applaud an obviously delinquent and unproductive individual who hides behind the guise of making music, particularly obnoxious music.”

In response to her criticism, Naira Marley launched a personal attack, claiming that Opetodolapo wanted to have sexual relations with him but was unattractive. This exchange further intensified the tension between them.

Tragically, Mohbad, who had previously called out Naira Marley for threats to his life, died in a controversial manner on Tuesday. Following Mohbad’s passing, Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry faced severe backlash after various documents and videos surfaced online, revealing their relentless bullying of the late singer for leaving Marlians Record.

Addressing the ongoing controversies on her official Instagram page, Opetodolapo shared that when she initially spoke out against Naira Marley in 2019, she faced significant criticism. She also added that she would prefer not to be tagged in the ongoing discussions, as the relevant authorities are already involved in this matter.

“When I singlehandedly spoke up against this character and imminent danger it portrays, I was bashed both inside and out, a danger not curtailed will become hydraheaded, my heart is with the departed and everything that represents him,” she wrote.
