Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, professionally known as Asake, recently highlighted the challenge of securing employment in Nigeria while having tattoos.
Speaking in an interview featured in the latest GQ magazine issue, Asake shared his perspective, stating, “In Nigeria, having a neck tattoo often presents difficulties in finding employment opportunities.
Beyond discussing the stigma associated with tattoos, Asake also shed light on the journey to his current success in the music industry, emphasizing that his accomplishments were the result of persistent dedication and hard work, rather than being an overnight sensation as is sometimes perceived.
“You have to understand: I got there in two years, but I’ve been working for years. People are counting the days you’re successful. They don’t count the days you’ve been working towards it. Nobody gives a fvck about that”.
