Afrobeats artist Iyanya has weighed in on accusations that he has taken sides in the ongoing feud between his fellow musicians, Wizkid and Davido.
The long-standing rivalry between Wizkid and Davido flared up again last year, leading to heated exchanges on social media.
Recently, Iyanya, who previously collaborated with Wizkid on the hit song “Sexy Mama,” faced backlash for publicly supporting Davido’s music, prompting fans to suggest he had shifted allegiance.
Responding to the criticism, Iyanya clarified that he has no issues with either artist and maintains an impartial stance.
He emphasized that he enjoys Wizkid’s music alongside that of other artists, and that it’s common for artists to support each other’s work.
He expressed frustration over fans attempting to create conflict among artists, stating, “I don’t have an issue with any artiste. I played Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ and ‘Morayo’ just like I enjoy all my colleagues’ songs.
Most artists listen to each other’s music when it drops. It’s part of what we do to stay informed about the evolving sounds in the industry.”
