Jide Kosoko Exposes Actress ‘Sleeping for Roles’ Practice in Nollywood

Published on

In a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko alleged that some actresses intentionally enter the film industry to gain prominence through sexual relationships.

Kosoko addressed the contentious issue of “sex for roles” in Nollywood, asserting that while some women may feel pressured to comply, no one can be forced into such exchanges.

He emphasized that actors and actresses have agency over their choices and mentioned that certain women come into the industry with a strategic plan to elevate their careers by engaging in such relationships.

“If I ask you to fulfill a personal request for a role and you decline, there’s no coercion involved,” he stated.

Kosoko further claimed to be aware of several well-known actresses who embrace this approach, including one who has served as a Magistrate.
