Nollywood icon Joke Silva has opened up about her decision to keep her maiden name instead of taking her husband Olu Jacobs’ surname after their marriage.
During a recent interview on the Leadership podcast with Stephen Akintayo, Silva explained that it was her husband’s suggestion for her to maintain her professional identity.
At 62, the actress emphasized the significance of her brand, stating that Jacobs believed changing her name after years of building her identity could create complications in her career.
While she retained the name Joke Silva for her professional endeavors, she noted that there was no doubt among their acquaintances that she was Mrs. Jacobs, which made the name change irrelevant.
