Award-winning filmmaker Kunle Afolayan revealed that he once directed a movie despite not understanding its storyline.
Speaking at KAP Film & Television Academy’s Reel Circle, Afolayan shared his experience with an installation film, a genre unfamiliar to him.
He recounted reading the script and seeking clarification from colleagues, including the late Biodun Aleja.
Despite his reservations, Afolayan proceeded with the project due to the attractive offer of $40,000.Afolayan admitted that, even after filming, he still didn’t grasp the story. The film premiered in five countries in 2007.
