Nigerian Fuji legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, widely known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has been struck by tragedy with the passing of his mother, Halima Anifowoshe, who died at the age of 105.

The musician announced the heartbreaking news on his social media, sharing a poignant photo of himself with his mother, accompanied by the message: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi Raji’un. RIP Mama.”

This loss follows just days after KWAM 1’s ex-wife, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, passed away after battling an undisclosed illness.

She was laid to rest at the Abari cemetery in Lagos according to Islamic customs.

In response to this double tragedy, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate from the 2023 elections, expressed his condolences on X, stating, “On behalf of my family, I extend heartfelt sympathies to Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, who has recently faced the sorrow of losing both his mother and ex-wife.

I pray that Almighty Allah grants them strength during this difficult time, forgives the departed’s sins, and grants them eternal peace.”
