Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has confidently declared that his party is poised to take over Nigeria in 2027. This statement was made while receiving thousands of APC defectors into NNPP at his residence in Kano.
Kwankwaso emphasized that Nigerians, particularly northerners, have endured sufficient suffering and that no amount of pressure or intimidation will deter them from seeking change. He criticized the APC government, stating that it has become a vicious cycle of poverty and insecurity, unacceptable to citizens.
The historic defection includes over 1,000 members from 12 wards of Dala Local Government Council, effectively collapsing the APC structure in the area. Kwankwaso also received defectors from Gwale and Kiru local government areas.
He reassured Nigerians that the impending “storms of change” will resist any attempts by security forces or INEC to manipulate the forthcoming elections, and that citizens will make the right choice to improve their situation.
