Governor of Oyo State, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, urged members of the National Assembly Joint Committee on Electoral Matters to propose changes that will enhance Nigeria’s democracy and promote unity within the country.
During a meeting with the lawmakers in his office, the governor emphasized the importance of instilling confidence in Nigerian citizens regarding the democratic process and encouraging their participation in it.
He stressed the need for the committee to recommend amendments that will strengthen democratic principles and foster national unity.
Governor Seyi Makinde said;
“I have seen people who were given the opportunity to change the trajectory of the nation but because of selfishness and personal interest they missed the road. Who knows who is going to be here tomorrow? Whatever you do, do it in the wider interest of the country; the unity of Nigeria is sacrosanct. A united Nigeria is the route to go.”
