Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, has announced that he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from his official duties.
He submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday to inform him of this decision. Ngelale stated that the primary reason for this leave of absence is pressing medical issues affecting his immediate family.
After consulting with his family, who are currently facing a worsening medical situation at home, Ngelale made the difficult decision to take this time off.
This leave of absence will affect Ngelale’s various roles within the administration, including his position as Presidential Spokesperson, his temporary role as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and his position as Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
While Ngelale understands the urgency of the state’s affairs, he believes that taking this leave is necessary given the circumstances.
