Nigerian Athletes Gear Up for Exciting Year of Competitions in 2025

As of January 10, 2025, Nigerian athletes are gearing up for an exciting and competitive year filled with significant sporting events.

Key highlights include the African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled from February 1 to 28 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, where the Super Eagles B team will make a much-anticipated return after a six-year absence.

The upcoming CHAN tournament presents a pivotal opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its domestic talent. The Super Eagles B team, featuring notable players such as Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, aims to reclaim its place at the summit of African football.

Following CHAN, the focus will shift to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
