Popular Nigerian musician Peter Okoye has responded to confusion surrounding the arrest of a man bearing the same name in Ghana.
A video circulating on social media shows Ghanaian police apprehending a 31-year-old suspect identified as Peter Okoye for alleged fraud and kidnapping.
The incident sparked mistaken identity claims online, with some users confusing the suspect with the famous singer.
In response, Peter Okoye shared the viral clip on X (formerly Twitter), urging authorities to be clear when identifying suspects.
Writing in Pidgin English, he said, “Abeg make una dey specificaly dey specify which ‘PETER OKOYE’. I no be thief,” distancing himself from the incident.
