Nigeria’s Oscars Selection Committee Expanded with Ali Nuhu, Blessing Egbe, Victor Akande.

The Selection Committee for the Oscars in Nigeria, known as NOSC, has introduced five fresh members in preparation for the upcoming 97th ceremony of the prestigious awards.

The 97th Oscars ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 2nd, 2025.

The Nigerian Oscar Selection Committee (NOSC) has expanded its membership with the appointment of five new individuals, as announced by its chairperson, Stephanie Linus.

The new members include notable figures in the film industry: Ali Nuhu, Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation; Blessing Egbe, a renowned film producer; Victor Akande, a respected journalist and film critic; Kene Okwuosa, CEO of Filmhouse Cinemas; and actress Ijeoma Agu.

These new appointees will join existing members, including Stephanie Linus, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, and others, to form a diverse team with a range of creative expertise.

The addition of these new members aims to strengthen the committee’s ability to select Nigeria’s best film for international recognition.
