The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has emerged victorious in all 44 local government chairmanship and 484 councilor positions in Kano’s recent local council elections.
Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi, the chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSAIC), announced the results, revealing that six political parties—including AA, AAC, Accord, ADC, APM, and NNPP—participated in the elections.
He expressed gratitude to various stakeholders, including security agencies, media organizations, political party leaders, civil society groups, religious leaders, and community representatives for their contributions to fostering grassroots democracy in the state.
Prof. Malumfashi noted that the elections were conducted peacefully and are indicative of public trust in the process, emphasizing the credibility and fairness of the electoral exercise.
