According to reports, notable personalities expected to be present at the meeting include the governors of Kwara, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, and Niger States.
Previously, the North Central region held the key position of chairman of the party, under the leadership of former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Senator George Akume, in collaboration with governors, former governors, Senators, and other important figures of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the North Central region, are scheduled to meet in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday to discuss the ongoing crisis within the party.
However, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reallocated the chairmanship to Kano State in the North West last year, it caused discontentment among the region.
The decision to rezone the chairmanship ignited significant unrest within the party, resulting in demands for a reassessment.
An insider within the party disclosed that the stakeholders aim to establish a unified position to present to President Tinubu regarding the chairmanship issue.
