Okai claims Yahaya Bello has no involvement in Kogi peace efforts.

Usman Okai Austin, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the House of Representative election in Dekina/Bassa, Kogi State, has rejected the notion that former governor Yahaya Bello was responsible for the lack of youth participation in the EndBadGovernance protest in the state.

Okai contends that Bello’s actions and policies are harmful to the state, contradicting the claim that he is instrumental in maintaining peace in Kogi State.

Okai’s response was prompted by an article written by Sulaimon Adejoh, who argued that Bello deliberately prevented the protest from taking place in Kogi State due to his support for President Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid.

According to Adejoh, Bello perceived the protest as an agenda that should not be allowed in the state.
