Over 50 Scholarships and Medical Outreach: South East Group Praises Powell Homes’ Impact

Published on

The leadership of the South East Political Watchdog has commended the Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Limited, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi, for his notable contributions towards youth development in Enugu State. The group praised his dedication to creating opportunities for young people, noting that his efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of many in the region.

The commendation was made recently by the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Charles Ogbu, during a chat with newsmen in Enugu. He highlighted the efforts of Architect Onyekachi, describing him as a beacon of hope for the youth. According to Dr. Ogbu, the Managing Director’s investment in the growth and empowerment of young people stands as clear evidence of his commitment to fostering positive change in the state.

He further noted that the company had, in 2021, awarded scholarships to over 50 students across Akagbeugwu in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. Dr. Ogbu pointed out that such initiatives have been instrumental in helping less privileged students gain access to education, thereby offering them a chance for a brighter future. The scholarships, he mentioned, have eased the financial burden on many families, enabling their children to pursue their academic aspirations.

In his words, “Powell Homes and Shelters Limited has gone beyond just business; they have become a pillar in the community by providing education and support where it is needed most. The medical outreach programs they have initiated across several communities have provided crucial healthcare services to those who might otherwise lack access, making a real difference in the lives of many.”

Dr. Ogbu further stated, “Empowering 50 students in Akagbeugwu, as well as other charity works that include free medical outreaches, should be commended.”
