The member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, is set to kick off intensive training on renewable energy installation, maintenance, marketing training, and empowerment.

The 4-day event, which is scheduled to start on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, and end on Saturday, November 2, 2024, will take place at No. 12 Achị Street, opposite Good Shepherd Anglican Seminary, off Agric Bank Independence Layout, Enugu, and is expected to empower over 90 young persons from the constituency.

Addressing newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday ahead of the training, the Senior Legislative Aide to the lawmaker, Dr. Ekwe Okwudiri, said the aim is to give young persons of not more than 45 in the constituency an opportunity to be self-employed. “This training is not just about teaching technical skills but about empowering our youths to stand on their own.”
“We are giving them tools for self-reliance and sustainable income.”

He stated that the selected participants had applied and expressed interest through platforms provided by the organizers. “The application process was open and transparent, allowing all interested youths to register and take advantage of this opportunity.”
“We believe the selected candidates are fully committed to learning and applying these skills.”

It will be recalled that this is the second massive training and empowerment within four months embarked upon by the first-time lawmaker for his constituents.

It was also gathered that the DG of the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria will be there.
