PDP Campaign Spokesman, Olu Martins, Taken into Custody by Police.

The Deputy Director-General of the Media for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council, Reverend Olu Martins, has been apprehended by the Edo State Police Command.

Adegboye confirmed that the PDP campaign spokesperson has been formally charged and is now facing legal proceedings.

Adegboye emphasized the political neutrality of the police command and urged all political players in the state to adhere to the established rules and regulations.


He stressed the importance of conducting election campaigns in a dignified, inclusive, and lawful manner, highlighting the need for responsible conduct from all involved parties.

The police commissioner expressed concerns over a viral video featuring Rev. Olu Martins making potentially inflammatory remarks that could escalate tensions during the electoral period in the state.

“He was invited to serve as a deterrent to others of like- behaviours and we also decided that the matter should be resolved at the court”.
