PDP Claims Ondo State Underperforming Under Aiyedatiwa’s Leadership.

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed discontent with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s management of state affairs since he assumed office ten months ago.

In a statement from Publicity Secretary Kennedy Peretei, the PDP lamented that the state’s economy is faltering due to the governor’s failure to boost local economic activities.

The opposition party criticized Aiyedatiwa for the significant funds allocated for the construction of the deputy governor’s lodge and for road repairs across various local government areas, noting that many roads remain neglected despite a N35B approval for asphalt overlay in July 2024.

Moreover, they pointed out that Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami has been residing in a luxury hotel at taxpayer expense instead of utilizing the funds meant for the renovation of his official residence.

The PDP argues that under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, the state has not seen progress, urging citizens to vote for change in the upcoming elections on November 16.

In response, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo, through its Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, dismissed the PDP’s allegations as unfounded, asserting that they are resorting to mudslinging due to a lack of viable alternatives to the current administration’s achievements.
