The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked reports that it invited former President Goodluck Jonathan to join the 2027 presidential race on its platform.
According to Ibrahim Abdullahi, the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Jonathan is eligible to contest the election as a Nigerian with one more term left, but the party hasn’t issued him a ticket or discussed the issue with him.
Abdullahi noted that the PDP has done enough for Jonathan and wouldn’t woo him, adding that there are 12 governors and other prominent politicians eligible to contest the presidential election on the party’s platform.
