A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has criticized the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum, for reportedly having a secret meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
He called on Damagum to clarify the situation, stating that the party leaders must work together to save the PDP from the grip of Damagum and his associates to revitalize its effectiveness as an opposition party.
Ologbondiyan expressed his concerns following the PDP’s defeat in the recent Ondo State governorship election, warning that future elections in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun might reflect similar outcomes as those in Kogi, Imo, and Ondo unless there is a move to restore the substantive National Chairman.
He criticized Damagum’s management of the party, claiming that he shows little interest in ensuring the party’s electoral success.
