“PDP never summoned Wike” – Nwogu

Published on

Senator Olaka Nwogu, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Committee, has denied reports that the committee summoned Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. According to Nwogu, the committee has not yet held a meeting to discuss issues surrounding Wike.

The PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, had previously stated that Wike had been summoned by the party for alleged anti-party activities.

However, Nwogu believes that individuals with personal motivations have spread this information falsely.

Nwogu said:

“I am a member of the disciplinary committee of the party. I was disturbed when the report came that Nyesom Wike had been summoned at a time when the Disciplinary Committee has not even met to consider any of these things.

“There has been a lot of misinformation to the public sometimes by people who should know better, who shouldn’t do that for reasons they know best.

“There are allegations that are flying all over the place, and even the committee’s work is being put in a different light from what the committee has tried to do. The committee is still organizing itself to now look at its functions.”
