PDP Urges IGP to Ensure Security for Rivers Local Government Polls

Published on

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to provide security for the Rivers State local government elections. This request comes after the Rivers State Police Command stated they would not provide security due to a federal high court order in Abuja.

The PDP also warned that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the IGP should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order during the elections.

Meanwhile, the Benue State Chairman of the PDP considers today’s local government polls a litmus test for the 2027 elections .
