The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the Court of Appeal’s judgment sacking Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the party.
The court upheld a High Court judgment that removed Anyanwu and affirmed Ude Okoye as the substantive National Secretary.
Edwin Woko, the leader of the PDP executives in Rivers State, described the ruling as the end of Anyanwu’s “political gambling” in the party.
The PDP is now urging members in the North Central zone to nominate a new National Chairman to replace Iyorchia Ayu, and is calling on party members nationwide to support efforts to restore the party’s strength as a vibrant opposition.
