The crisis in the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to escalate as the party announced the expulsion of three influential members.
Dan Orbih, the National Vice Chairman South-South of the party, Hon Philip Shaibu, the former deputy governor of the state, and Hon Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, a two-time lawmaker and the immediate past Oredo Federal Constituency Representative in the National Assembly, have all been expelled from the party.
The party’s State Publicity Secretary, Ogie Vasco, confirmed the expulsions in a statement in Benin City.
Vasco explained that the expulsion was due to the trio’s involvement in anti-party activities.
The State Working Committee made the decision to uphold their suspensions and expulsions after extensively deliberating on the issue. Chief Dan Orbih, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, and Hon Ogbeide-Ihama from Ward 2, Oredo Local Government Area have all been expelled with immediate effect.
