Dr. Ibenaku Onoh, the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Enugu North Local Government Area, launched his campaign with a vibrant kickoff in Asata Ward 1 and Umunevo Ward 2, ahead of the September 21 Enugu State Local Government elections.
The Asata Ward 1 campaign, held at Asata Primary, saw a strong turnout of party supporters who voiced their confidence in Dr. Onoh. He outlined his commitment to aligning with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s goals to make Enugu City a top business and safe haven, pledging to pay key attention to security, education, health, and infrastructure.
Support from former PDP Chairman Hon. Charles Chiakwa, ex-Councillor Hon. Ugo Conrad, and other political and religious figures affirmed Dr. Onoh’s potential to lead effectively.
In Umunevo Ward 2, supporters braved heavy rain at Afia Nine Square to show their support for Dr. Onoh.
Dr. Onoh assured that his administration would address all key sectors and commended his Deputy, Hon. Echezona Ugwu stating that if elected, they would work together to replicate the infrastructural development of the Governor Barr Peter Mbah at the local government level.
Hon. Emeka Onunze, the immediate past Local Government Chairman, the party’s state woman leader Hon. Mrs. Peace Patrick, Hon. Chief Emma Ngwu, Hon. Ikechukwu Agbo, and other leaders also pledged their support to the PDP, citing Dr. Onoh as the best candidate for Chairmanship.
Hon. Ernest Onuoha, Director General of the campaign and Chairman of PDP in Enugu North, used the visits to rally support, promising that Dr. Onoh would exceed expectations if elected.
