Reality TV star and actress, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has recently opened up about her decision to stop attending church.
In the latest episode of her podcast, Spill With Phyna, she revealed that she had been a devoted Catholic during her upbringing but has since distanced herself from the church due to certain reforms introduced by the Pope.
Phyna expressed her disappointment in the Pope’s approval of same-sex marriage blessings within the Catholic faith.
This specific reform, among others, has caused her to lose faith in the institution and subsequently led to her decision to cease attending church services.
It is worth noting that she is not alone in her sentiments, as many individuals have experienced similar conflicts between their personal beliefs and religious doctrine.
“I stopped going to Church. Initially, I was Catholic; that was my Church growing up, but things come dey go on. Pope don actually pass different kinds of things then wey no really sit right with me but this recent one of man and man fit come marry for not just any Church but Catholic Church, I just tell myself say no need,” She said.
