Police Appoints ESUT Lecturer as South East Spokesperson for POCACOV

The Nigerian Police Force, through the office of the National Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), has appointed Enugu-based journalist and university lecturer, Mr. Sebastine Okafor Chukwuebuka, as its South East Publicity Secretary.

In a letter dated October 8, 2024, and signed by the National Coordinator of the program, CSP Oluyesi Olabisi Okowobi, it was stated that Mr. Okafor’s appointment came as a result of a thorough review of his experience and track record in the fight against cultism and other vices.

He will be responsible for managing the public image and reputation of all POCACOV activities through collaboration with journalists, media houses, content creation, event planning, social media management, among other duties.

Mr Okafor until the recent appointment is a lecturer in the Department of mass communication Esut, Internal Auditor NUJ online chapter Enugu State, Presenter with family Love 99.9fm Enugu and also writes for other Media organisations.

You are responsible to the leadership of POCACOV Chairman in the South East who shall be your direct supervisor by collaboratively working closely along him with and various stakeholders to promote community- oriented policing and combat crime effectively through Preventive Policing techniques.
  3. In view of your appointment with the Nigeria Police Force, you are expected to eschew any act or omission that could be inimical to the corporate image of the Country and the Nigeria Police Force in particular.
