The late Saratu Gidado, affectionately known as Daso, a seasoned actress in Kannywood, has passed away.
Reports from a local radio station in Kano State revealed that the actress died peacefully in her sleep.
According to her family, she did not rouse from her slumber on Tuesday morning following the pre-dawn meal observed during the Ramadan fasting period, known as Sahur.
Daso, known for her outstanding contributions, held a significant presence in the Hausa film industry for more than 18 years. Her diverse performances resonated with audiences in the North.
Before pursuing her successful acting career, Saratu dedicated her time to educating as a committed school teacher.
The news of her demise has deeply saddened fans and colleagues as they grieve the loss of this cherished talent.
