Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola, who goes by the stage name Portable, has been released from police custody by the Lagos State Police Command.
The artist was detained on Tuesday following accusations of not completing the payment for his luxury vehicle, a G-Wagon.
Portable had reportedly bought a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from car dealer Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos) in Lagos but had not finished paying for it.
Sources indicate that Portable only paid N13 million of the N27 million total cost of the vehicle and declined to settle the remaining N14 million balance.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benajmin Hundeyin, verified the artist’s release to Vanguard on Wednesday evening.
