President Bola Tinubu has stated that he has been keeping in touch with former President Muhammadu Buhari since leaving office in 2023.
He praised Buhari for upholding his promise not to meddle in Tinubu’s administration and even visited Buhari’s farm in Daura, Katsina State.
Tinubu shared that he makes a point to reach out to the former president to ensure his well-being and check on his activities on his farm in Daura, Katsina State.
He said;
“When I call him (on the phone) to say, ‘Are you living? Are you going to the farm?’ you don’t hear from him (Buhari), either to nominate or intrude in the cabinet or complain about issues. Thank you for being who you are.”
“After handing over, you (Buhari) said, ‘I will be far away in Daura but if you need me, contact me.’ I won’t intrude on whatever you are doing. I won’t interfere. I won’t breathe down your throat. We’ve partnered to make democracy flourish in Nigeria.”
