Primate Ayodele Advocates for Saraki and Peter Obi to Lead PDP Back to Power

Published on

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has highlighted former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Peter Obi as key figures capable of revitalizing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a video statement, he urged the PDP to award its presidential nomination to Saraki and Obi, asserting that while Saraki is suited for the presidency, he is not fit for chairmanship.

He stated, “Saraki-Obi is the solution for PDP. Peter Obi should rejoin PDP and run for president. There are other candidates who could elevate PDP back to prominence. If PDP aims to succeed in future elections, David Mark should also be considered. Saraki is clearly presidential material.”

The PDP has faced defeats in the last two presidential elections against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is currently grappling with internal leadership challenges, with calls for the ousting of acting Chairman Umar Damagum, whom some party members believe poses a threat to the party’s future.
