American singer and rapper, Rod Wave, has been taken into custody on charges of firearm possession. Local authorities in Manatee County, Florida arrested him on Wednesday, as stated in official arrest records.
The arrest was made in connection to a gang-related shooting that occurred outside Sonic Sports Bar in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 31.
During a press conference held by the St. Petersburg Police Department, Rod Wave was alleged to have ties to the incident which injured four innocent bystanders.
The police chief, Mike Kovacsev, identified three of the suspects involved in the shooting as Christopher Atkins, Keith Westby, and Kevontre Wesby, all linked to the Young Gangsters gang.
Additionally, two more individuals are currently being sought for their involvement.
On the other hand, Rod Wave’s legal team, consisting of Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, strongly asserted that their client was apprehended and detained without any solid evidence of wrongdoing.
