Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has stated that he selected Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, because he believes that the state needs a capable leader to oversee its affairs.
Obaseki emphasized that choosing an incompetent governor would be detrimental to the people of Edo State. He made these remarks during a PDP campaign event in the Etsako East Local Government Area.
The governor further explained that he brought Ighodalo on board to ensure the continuation of the positive work his administration has been undertaking. Obaseki highlighted that Ighodalo is not someone who requires extensive guidance and support but is instead a highly competent candidate.
The governor also highlighted the importance of having capable individuals in charge of the state, especially given the current challenges and suffering faced by Nigerians.
Obaseki concluded by reiterating that Edo State is already benefitting from good governance, and he believes that Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie will uphold and advance this progress.
