Nigerian rapper Reminisce has shared his thoughts on the music industry, stating that money now plays a bigger role in determining hit songs than the quality of the music itself.
According to him, huge marketing budgets are now the key factor in making a song popular.
Reminisce expressed this sentiment on the ‘I Said What I Said’ podcast, saying, “The game has changed… Money now produces hits, not music anymore.”
He emphasized that the marketing budget behind a song is now what determines its success, rather than its musical merit.
