Panam Percy Paul, a prominent gospel singer and songwriter, has disclosed that he turned down a lucrative £24 million record deal in 1995.
The contract required him to reduce the number of times he mentioned “Jesus” in his songs, a condition that compromised his faith.
Paul recounted that the record label suggested using alternative names such as “Righteous One” or “Greatest Lover” instead of explicitly mentioning Jesus. He firmly refused, stating, “You can keep the money while I keep the name.”
