Rivers Crisis: APC Chieftain Eze Backs Fubara After Supreme Court Ruling

Published on

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for surviving the onslaught by antidemocratic forces in Nigeria.

Eze described the Supreme Court ruling on the State Assembly crisis as a “Black Friday” in Nigeria’s democracy and a declaration of war against Rivers State.

The Supreme Court ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stop releasing funds to the Rivers State government until a proper House of Assembly is constituted.

The court also ordered Martin Amaewhule to resume sitting immediately with all elected members.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, reacted to the ruling, stating that Governor Fubara has committed an impeachable offense.

However, the Coalition of Opposition lawmakers maintained that Fubara will continue to drive the wheel of governance in Rivers State despite the Supreme Court judgment .
