Rivers Crisis: PDP Chieftain, Woke, Slams Governor Fubara for Criticizing Wike’s Projects, Accuses Him of Hypocrisy and Ignorance

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chukwuemeka Woke, has strongly condemned Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s recent comments about projects in Rivers State, particularly his criticism of a road constructed in Omuma Local Government Area, which he referred to as a “Farm Road that leads to nowhere”.

Woke, who is also the Director General of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, expressed his disappointment and concern over the Governor’s remarks, stating that they were not only troubling but also hypocritical and ignorant.

He argued that belittling essential infrastructure that connects farmers to markets while promising new contracts for road projects to aid transportation is a clear example of hypocrisy.

Furthermore, Woke accused Fubara of failing to acknowledge the foundations laid by his predecessors, specifically Wike, and of having an insidious nature that should be worrisome to the public.

The PDP chieftain’s reaction comes after Fubara’s comments at the launch of projects in Ahoada and Etche, where he also stated that he would not have inaugurated road projects in Obio Akpor Local Government Area if he were to be evil, emphasizing that politics is about meeting the needs of people despite their loyalties or allegiances.
