Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Patrick Doyle has made a provocative statement, alleging that the entertainment industry is under the influence of satanic forces.
His comment came in response to Tems’ recent win at the 2024 BET Awards, where the secular artist took home the Best Gospel award, causing controversy and surprise among mainstream gospel musicians.
Doyle took to Facebook to share his thoughts, warning gospel singers to beware of seeking validation from the entertainment industry, which he described as an oppressive “mafia.”
He cautioned them against relying on an industry he believes is controlled by satanic forces, instead urging them to focus on their faith and true purpose.
He wrote, “I feel the pain of mainstream gospel artists who feel slighted that an evidently secular musician, Tems was awarded for best gospel song.
“That said, I believe it is about time that committed Christians should stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia which by the way is in the grip of Satan.”
