The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Imo State has announced the prices for their Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for the upcoming local government elections.
The chairmanship position forms will cost N150,000, while the councillorship position forms will cost N50,000. The state chairman of the party, Amb. Dr. Eluwa Ifeanyi Henry, made this announcement during a chat with journalists in Owerri.
He also mentioned that women and senior citizens will pay 50% of the stipulated amount, while persons with disabilities will receive the forms for free. Eluwa explained that the low price of the forms is meant to encourage party members to express their interest easily. He emphasized that the SDP aims to raise democratic leaders who will prioritize the well-being of all citizens.
Eluwa praised the Supreme Court for granting autonomy to local government administration in the country, stating that this decision will enhance governance and grassroots development.
