Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for focusing on self-perpetuation in power, which he believes has hindered Delta’s development and subjected its people to stagnation.
Nwoko, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused PDP leaders of prioritizing their personal interests and power retention over the well-being of the people .
He emphasized that the PDP’s 25-year dominance in Delta State has deprived the region of real political competition, likening it to a form of “slavery.”
Nwoko expressed excitement about joining the APC, which he believes will bring greater autonomy and opportunities to the region. The senator also advocated for the creation of Anioma State, which he believes will free Delta North from the constraints of PDP governance.
However, he criticized the state government’s reluctance to support the creation of Anioma State, accusing PDP leaders of brainwashing the people and preventing open discussions on the matter.
