South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron has been found dead in her apartment in Seoul, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
Kim, who began her acting career as a child, was discovered by a friend at approximately 4:55 PM local time.
Investigators have found no signs of foul play, and an official inquiry into the cause of death is ongoing.
Kim gained international recognition for her role in the 2009 film “A Brand New Life,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
She went on to star in several successful films, including “The Man from Nowhere” and “The Neighbour,” for which she received award recognition.
Kim had largely withdrawn from public life in 2022 following a drunk driving incident. Her last role was in the 2023 Netflix Korean drama “Bloodhounds.”
