A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the N300 million fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by detained singer, Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington, against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) until January 27.

The adjournment was made after the IGP’s counsel, CSP Audu Garba, requested a short date to study the further affidavit served on him in court by Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Abubakar Marshal.

Speed Darlington is seeking four orders, including an unconditional release from detention, production before the court to inquire into the circumstances of his arrest and detention, and payment of N300 million as damages for unlawful detention.

The singer was arrested and detained over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking against award-winning artiste, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy.
