Mariam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, is a Nigerian comedian and skit creator who has officially established her non-profit organization, the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative.
According to reports, the foundation is dedicated to assisting the less privileged in society, with a special focus on Ilorin, Kwara State, where she was born.
During Taaooma’s visit to Saliu Mustapha, the senator representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District, at his residence in Ilorin, the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative was introduced.
Taaooma presented the foundation during the meeting and reaffirmed her commitment to improving the lives of the less fortunate.
While discussing the foundation’s various initiatives, Taaooma expressed that the project is her way of giving back to the community.
She also requested the senator’s cooperation and support to ensure the success of the foundation. Senator Mustapha commended Taaooma for her remarkable initiative and assured her of his availability to work with her.
The legislator, also known as the Turaki of Ilorin, praised the skit creator for producing morally upright content that can help combat drug abuse and other illegal activities.
The senator also stressed the significance of vocational education for young people, highlighting its potential to create employment opportunities and empower the next generation.
He advised Taaooma to focus on material that upholds moral values and contributes to the fight against social vices.
