Igosave, a well-known Nigerian comedian, has voiced his opinion that the fame of a skit maker is temporary or short-lived. Through this assertion, he suggests that the popularity and recognition achieved by skit makers may not be long-lasting and could fade away relatively quickly.
According to Igosave, unlike stand-up comedians, most skit makers in the entertainment industry lack longevity. He believes stand-up comedians have a better chance of sustaining their careers and remaining relevant over time compared to skit makers.
Igosave shared his viewpoint during his appearance as a guest on the latest episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, which is co-hosted by actor Nedu.
When asked if he agrees that skit making is now overshadowing stand-up comedy, Igosave expressed his viewpoint by saying, “Skit making, once they start am e dey erupt like volcano. But in my opinion, the lifespan is short.” According to him, skit making can gain rapid popularity and attention, similar to the eruption of a volcano.
“Yeah, skit maker go come, scatter everywhere, but before you know, he do cool. But, comedians go dey there for years still dey do their thing dey go [sic].
“We get plenty skit makers wey don come, wey we no dey hear off again wey no last three minutes.”
