VeryDarkMan Refuses to Apologize to Falz and Femi Falana Amid Defamation Lawsuit

Popular social media critic VeryDarkMan has maintained his stance, refusing to apologize to human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, singer Falz, amid a defamation lawsuit filed against him.

VeryDarkMan had shared a leaked audio recording that implicated Falz and his father in a corruption scandal, which they denied and demanded an apology for.¹In response, VeryDarkMan posted a video on Instagram, stating that his intention was to expose corruption, not defame the Falana family.

“I see things that don’t make sense, like someone going to prison and not serving their jail term or the EFCC collecting money,” he said. “That’s what I exposed. But sadly, some people, Falana and Falz, whose names were mentioned, said I should have informed them before posting such things about them.

They asked me to apologize. I don’t see anything wrong with what I did, so I’m not apologizing to anybody. They should clear their name.”The Lagos State High Court ordered VeryDarkMan to delete the alleged defamatory post ahead of the substantive suit’s hearing at Ikeja High Court in Lagos on November 14, 2024.
